How to network at a technical meeting
Everyone has uncertainties about how to attend meetings and make them work for you and your career. This session will review critical activities that can make a difference for you networking conversations, practice with small talk, listening skills and body language.
Resume and cover letter writing
Knowing how to structure and what to say clearly and briefly in your public relations documents is critical in having reviewers read it and choose you for interviews. The distinction between curriculum vitas and resumes, practical reviews and opportunities to improve your documents will be given. A chance to talk confidentially about unique situations will be provided.
Tuesday, February 7th 7am - 8:30am (breakfast will be served)
The interviewing continuum...
Look in the mirror and see yourself as a candidate for a professional position. Would you hire the person you see in front of you? This is the question you effectively ask each representative who interviews you.
Mock Interviews
This workshop will teach interviewing principles by conducting mock interviews with members from the audience. The audience will give feedback and industrial employers will critique the interviews from their perspective. Please bring copies of your résumé.
